Constructed in the confines of his own introversion, Fyah Roiall, born Brandon Wedderburn, is a top lyricist, hip-hop/grime MC & champion freestyler straight outta Kingston, Jamaica. Roiall maintains an original voice and a commanding presence of his own.

As a conscious rapper/deejay, Roiall is inspired by the creative lyricism and complex wordplay of hip hop music. As Jamaica has always been an inspirator of American hip-hop it has also been a growing consumer. Roiall has always been a keen listener of this music as it returned to the island, but was always drawn to the more political voices in early hip hop and conscious black American pop culture, when hip hop was a powerful voice for disenfranchised black youth. Rallying against the disturbing dumbing down of contemporary mainstream music, Roiall has an impassioned and charismatic flow born from his observant intellect, sharp political mind and social consciousness, shaped by his experiences growing up in the developing nation of Jamaica.

Roiall is also very much a product of his rich musical heritage from the island. Rapping in his native Jamaican patois, painting pictures with his words of real life situations embedded in a complex understanding for his cultural & historical place in the world; Roiall’s raps are stories about the past, present & future that you can follow and feel. And although he is incredibly private, his lyrics provide a window into his mind, to a place where his observations can be said openly and shared with other “free minds” around the world.

Inspired by the creativity and variety of early Jamaican reggae/dancehall music before Yellowman and excited by his Jamaican brothers & sisters in the UK diaspora leading the grime, garage, and dubstep scene it’s easy to see where Roiall is building a new genre locally in Jamaica. Hardly a name to describe this genre, although many have coined it traphall or grimehall, Roiall’s pushing Jamaican lyricism with his grimy deejay vocals paired with trap/hip-hop beats in native patois.

An exhilarating live performer, Roiall cut his teeth on soundsystem parties all over Jamaica, as well as at larger island wide events like Magnum Kings & Queens. Roiall is a part of an emerging industry in jamaica of young creatives, musicians, producers, photographers and filmmakers with a shared vision of forging a real industry that provides real employment and economic mobility for this generation unlike the Jamaican musicians that came before.

Roiall’s particularity in his sound and image can be seen in his involvement in every level of the production of his music. From producer and engineer to creative director and at times even videographer, Roiall’s music is himself from vision to execution. Always bringing stunning visuals to compliment his mood setting music, he continues to grow his artistic abilities.

Following a profusion of unreleased singles popular in the underground scene and his first EP “Audio Therapy”, Roiall started officially releasing music in 2017 and quickly climbed in notoriety getting the attention of Beats1 DJ EBro with an “Apple Music Discovered” feature for his most recent single, Spaced Out. Roiall has a number of releases coming up in 2018 & 2019; including two much awaited singles ‘Wolves’ & ‘Amun-Ra” with leading Jamaican producer Teflon of ZincFence Records. He is also working on his first studio album, ‘One Day’, with producers Covncil, NJay (Peak Music) & Space Age Rasta, as well as several tracks on upcoming albums with Australian producer Monkey Marc.
